The Arkansas Foodbank Network has been working since 1984 to eliminate hunger in Arkansas by providing nutritious food to those in need. In 2009, the Foodbank distributed 14.2 million pounds: 11.6 million to more than 400 member food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and other agencies in 33 Arkansas counties. In addition, the Foodbank distributed 2.6 million pounds to the state’s other 5 Feeding America food banks. In total, that’s enough to fill up 473 semi-trailers, and if you lined up those semis, they would stretch 5 miles! The Arkansas Foodbank Network handles 57,000 pounds of food per day. Ninety-three percent of everything the Foodbank receives is allocated to programs, enabling its agencies to serve about 23,000 hungry Arkansans in any given week. The Arkansas Foodbank Network also address childhood hunger through its programs, Kids Cafe and Backpacks for Kids, and senior hunger through the Senior Supplement Program.

Since 1966, Youth Home’s mission has remained constant – to help adolescents and families triumph over their challenges and grow into healthier, contributing members of their community. Many children arrive at Youth Home with little chance at success. Many have a history of failure or abuse. Many have never had a healthy adult role model. A dedicated and respected team of professionals at Youth Home administer a variety of comprehensive programs specializing in individual, group and family therapy. Our goal is to turn troubled teenagers into strong, healthy adults. With help, these children will leave Youth Home with a new desire to succeed. We are funded through fees for services, grants, contracts and private donations. Gifts and contributions greatly enhance our programs, services and facilities.
